This week: Tennessee committee hearings for CMV bill

This week: Tennessee committee hearings for CMV bill

Recently introduced CMV legislation in the state of Tennessee is going to be discussed in two state committee hearings on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.

Senate bill (SB 2097) can be viewed here:  http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default.aspx?BillNumber=SB2097&GA=109

House bill (HB 2397) can be viewed here: http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default.aspx?BillNumber=HB2397&GA=109

We need your help! We are asking that all Tennessee families and supporters please make the following phone calls this week to support this committee process and to help this CMV awareness bill advance in the statehouse.
Please use this provided script for all phone calls and messages in support of the bill:

“Please support "The CMV Awareness Bill" HB 2397/ SB 2097 because it encourages healthcare providers or their facilities to tell pregnant women about CMV, a common, preventable virus that affects between 600-800 babies born in Tennessee every year. The bill is free to taxpayers and there is no liability for providers. Please support this common sense legislation that could save babies in our state simply by providing women with information on how to prevent the disease.”
